thrift social

Hey loves!!

A month ago, I attended thrift social 9: the sneaker edition and I must say it was hella lit. I mean, look at https://www.instagram.com/bobo_maina/ and I drifting away to the jams being played. Y’all should defo check her blog as well.

For those who don’t know, well thrift social is a convention for fashion enthusiasts, creatives,  thrift shoppers and just people who love to have fun accompanied with good music and occasional drinks.

I was so glad to have met my inspo yet again, because she gives me such life and is filled with an aura of love and light. Janet Mbugua, really slayed the cool football mom look in this gorgeous black dress and black nikes to go.

The event was honestly a great success, from the amazing turn out, to the beautiful people, fashion statements and much much more. I was literally dying inside having https://www.instagram.com/maitele_wawe/ the founder of the social market in South Africa.

I always saw myself ending up with a someone in these lines. How cute do we look? I joke though, I just wanted to take a picture with him because of his casual look and wax print that was again, LIT.

My friend https://www.instagram.com/isthatkevinkimani/ wore a simple crew neck shirt with ripped jeans and sneakers and of course pulled  a James Bond with the sun-glasses.

I also met this amazing dark hunk who literally slayed all Khaleesi’s dragons (if you watch game of thrones please relate) on his way because he looked dapper and I obviously couldn’t resist to have some photostardom.

For my look, I was going for a grundge inspired do, so I wore my black leather jacket , with a detailed shirt and leather A-line mini skirt. Since the theme was sneakers, I opted for these white sneaks from Red that I have had for a while.

Hmm. I’m so sure he never planned for that look but it came out just right!! I was also super stoked to meet https://www.instagram.com/mvziou/ also from the land of Mandela.

I had so much fun at the event and I made a vlog on it, if you haven’t watched it, head over to ,my you tube channel and do so. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKi7byGcqaWRt4a8hqc1c7g

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I loved writing it and I wish I could upload all the pictures that I took that day but they are too many, so I’ll be sharing snaps on my instagram feed.

Big shout out to all the people I met!! It was wonderful to have met some of ,my readers and just engage.

Do stay tuned for more, but most importantly, stay safe.

xx

Sincerely, Didi

  1. Hey! Lovely blog you’ve got here. I love your style and how genuine your post feel. I’m on course to find and connect with more African bloggers and creatives like myself. Good job!
